For sale is a Belgian 5 Francs coin from 1994, issued during the reign of King Albert II. The obverse of the coin features a modern, left-facing portrait of King Albert II, with his name "ALBERT II" inscribed below. The reverse displays a unique graphic design where the numeral "5" and the word "FRANK" are separated by a vertical line. The year of issue "1994" appears at the top, and the country's name in Flemish, "BELGIË", is at the bottom. The Brussels mint mark can also be discerned. The coin is made of an aluminium-bronze alloy, giving it a characteristic golden hue. This circulated piece is an example of the later Belgian franc coinage before the transition to the Euro, and a historical memento from the Kingdom of Belgium in the mid-1990s, an interesting addition to a collection of modern European coins.
