For sale is a Hungarian 10 Forint coin from 1972, issued during the period of the Hungarian People's Republic. The obverse of the coin features the "Peace Woman" – a female figure holding a wheatsheaf in her right hand, surrounded by sun rays, symbolizing peace and prosperity. Encircling this image, along the coin's edge, is the inscription "MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG" (Hungarian People's Republic) and the mint mark "BP." (Budapest). The reverse side prominently displays the numeral "10" above the word "FORINT", with the coat of arms of the Hungarian People's Republic (the Kádár emblem) and the year of issue "1972" below. The coin has a denticulated rim. It is made of an aluminium alloy, making it lightweight. This circulated piece is a tangible piece of history representing Hungary under communist rule and an interesting addition to any collection of European coins from the Cold War era, or a nostalgic memento from 1970s Hungary.
